  • Over 100 entries were submitted in the 2011 Classical Music Poetry Contest sponsored by WKU Public Radio and HBM. Contestants chose either Beethoven’s Symphony 6, or Bach’s Partita No. 3 for the basis of their poem, reflecting upon the thoughts and feelings inspired by the music. This year’s first place winner is Paisley Byrne of Green County High School, for her poem entitled “Restlessness” (Bach’s Partita No. 3). The second place winner is Natasha Pickett of Green County High School, for her poem entitled “Spring has Sprung” (Beethoven’s Symphony 6). HBM congratulates the winners and all participants for their excellent work!
  • HBM along with Citizen’s First Bank and WKU was able to provide 88 people with free Living Wills on May 21 to make a total of 1035 in the 6 years this program has been in place.
  • WKU Public Radio and HBM are sponsoring the 16th Annual Classical Music Poetry Contest for area high school students. Entries due April 30, 2011. For more information, click here.
  • Christopher Whitfield was selected for the 2011 Leadership Bowling Green class hosted by the Chamber.
  • HBM, co-sponser of Community Education’s Spell-A-Bration, won 2nd Runner up in the Spelling Bee.
